Vegan Shoes

Many shoe companies and shoe purchasers live by the rule that leather dress shoes are the best.  As vegans, we know that that doesn't have to be true.  But because that conception is so common, finding vegan shoes can be a doozy.

I've spent some time trying to find some staple shoe websites, because I find that typically vegan shoes are one of the following: low-quality, outrageously expensive, or ugly.  Here are some mainstream shoe companies that make vegan dress shoes!

For dress shoes/ women's work shoes, click here!

American Apparel
American Apparel has some adorable vegan Mary Jane pumps and regular pumps in denim and canvas.  They also have loafers and flats made from cotton.

Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters has some vegan shoe options.  BDG makes a lot of them.  When shopping online, look under the "content and care" section of each shoe to see if the materials are man-made or fabric.  When shopping in store, look at the bottom of the shoe for the textile sticker.  If all the textiles are square, then the materials are fabric or man-made.  If one of the textiles looks like a leather pelt, then the shoe contains leather.

ModCloth
ModCloth has a fair amount of vegan shoes.  They are not all vegan, so be careful to look at the materials.  Lower-priced shoes are more likely to be made out of textiles or other man-made materials.

Aldo
Aldo has a fair amount of vegan shoes.  They are not all vegan, so be careful to look at the materials.  Lower-priced shoes are more likely to be made out of textiles or other man-made materials.  When shopping in store, look at the bottom of the shoe for the textile sticker.  If all the textiles are square, then the materials are fabric or man-made.  If one of the textiles looks like a leather pelt, then the shoe contains leather.

Lulu's
Lulu's has some really cute alternative and punk-rock-type shoes and best of all...they have an entire category of only vegan shoes!  Lulu's is affordable and adorable.

Cri de Coeur
Cri de Coeur has a fabulous vegan shoe line with the cutest sandals, wedges, platform loafers, and platform sandals I've seen.  Also, they're entirely vegan and Peta approved!  When I want to splurge, I'm definitely going here.

Doc Martens
I love my vegan Doc Martens.  I have the W1460 or 1460 Women's in glossy Cherry Red, which is really dark red.  The women's have a more slim, feminine fit than the unisex.  Both unisex and women's run at least a half size large.

Tom's
Tom's vegan slip-ons are my staple casual shoes, and now Tom's makes vegan sandals and wedges too! I highly recommend checking them out.

Enzo Angiolini
Some Enzo Angiolini Styles are vegan.  The Bertolino line, for example, is made with a synthetic lining and outsole.  Also, check out their platform wedge Espadrille Sandals.

Here are some additional options. I created this list by getting advice from fellow vegans on reddit.com/r/vegan!!!
